Bucks, Montgomery DAs: Mom of dead Abington girl charged with endangerment

She had told police the girl left with $300 cash after an argument, authorities said.

- A Montgomery County teenager, who was reported missing back in July, has been found dead and dismembered, according to the District Attorney.

Detectives then found out that on August 24, Packer had enrolled her 12-year-old adopted son in the Quakertown School District but that no records were found indicating that Grace Packer had been enrolled for the fall 2016 semester, police said. She faces a felony charge of endangering the welfare of children and a misdemeanor count of obstructing the administration of law.

The death of Grace Packer, 14, of Abington, has been ruled a homicide. The cause of death is not being released to the public at this time because of the ongoing investigation.

14-year-old Grace Parker was reported missing in July by her mother in Abington Township.

"We want to be very, very cautious and operate close to the actual investigation results, not with speculation", he said . German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière said that "there is no doubt" that the crash was an intentional attack.

Authorities from several counties outlined the developments at a news conference in Bucks County. Her dismembered remains were found October 31 by two hunters near the Francis Walter Dam in Bear Creek Township.

On Thursday, prosecutors named Sara Packer a person of interest in Grace's homicide while claiming that Packer withheld information from investigators. Her mother reported her missing a week later, but never followed up on a promise to drop off photos of the girl, police said. The mother, Sara Packer, has been charged with child endangerment and obstruction of an investigation, district attorneys from three counties announced at a news conference.

"Even now, months later, someone might remember something that seems insignificant, but it could be a key piece of evidence in solving Grace's murder and bringing justice for Grace Packer", Steele said.

Investigators were led by Packer to believe that Grace could have gone to Philadelphia but said Thursday that that information was wrong. She remained behind bars in Montgomery County Thursday unable to post bail, according to court records.

"Sara Packer is also the self-reporting, last person to see Grace alive".
