Scientists are checking a nearby exoplanet for alien transmissions
"The Wolf 1061 system is important because it is so close and that gives other opportunities to do follow-up studies to see if it does indeed have life", Kane said in a statement.
According to the lead researcher Kane, "Because of its nearby position, the star system of Wolf 1061 is vital for investigation".
The scientists have also analyzed Wolf 1061c's dim M-dwarf star, also called the Wolf 1061. They showed the planet sits on the inner edge of the habitable zone, so may have undergone a "runaway greenhouse effect" - similar to what happened on Venus.
There are three so-called super-Earths in the system, including Wolf 1061c, which orbits in the habitable zone where the temperature is such that liquid water, and therefore life as we know it, could exist.
While scientists have been aware of the exoplanet since 2015, the fact that it is located in the "habitable" region of space - much like Earth is in our solar system - has not been known.
Scientists contend that there are more red dwarf stars like Wolf 1061 than any other type
However, the closeness of the Wolf 1061 wasn't the only reason of focus; instead there were also other factors.
If it sits too far away, the exoplanet will be too cold, but too close means it would be too hot. As of now most are only speculations about it, and Kane has said that more research would have to be made about the planet. For a planet to sustain life on it, it must not be too far or too close to its star.
The new closest exoplanet that might be like Earth is Proxima Cen b, which was discovered a year ago orbiting in the Alpha Centauri system, our nearest stellar neighbors, making it the closest possible potentially habitable exoplanet. The best candidate, Wolf 1061c, orbits in its parent star's habitable zone and what observers found was that the exoplanet not only might have had difficulty producing living organisms but may have problems sustaining life as well. Water can only last so long on a planet so close to its sun. "The surface temperature on Venus now reaches a scalding 880 degrees Fahrenheit". With a mass, almost 4.3 times more than that of Earth and radius more than 1.5 times from earth, the second exoplanets from Wolf Star system is the second closest possible habitable planet. One possibility is that the short time scales over which Wolf 1061c's orbit changes could be enough that it could actually cool the planet off.
"These findings all beg the question: Is life possible on Wolf 1061c?"
But fully understanding what's happening on the planet's surface will take more research, he added. The findings are forthcoming in the Astrophysical Journal in a paper titled "Characterization of the Wolf 1061 Planetary System".
Under Fergie they were the best at winning trophies; now they're the best at paying world record transfer fees. However, the transfer would only happen if Atletico fails to get the player a contract extension.
He also added that the Apple 12inch Macbook will be the first to get the processor followed by the 13inch and 15inch model. With such an offering, the MacBook Pro can regain the trust of the consumers but it will be a slow process.
Yad Vashem said research suggests the pendant "was taken, dropped, and remained buried in the ground for over 70 years". This pendant demonstrates once again the importance of archaeological research of former Nazi death camp sites.
The National Park Service is conducting aerial flyovers to help make it easier for the response teams to enter the area by boat. Rescuers ended up euthanizing nine dolphins too sick to survive, while 72 died on their own by Sunday, said Mase.

The gameplay for Fire Emblem Heroes will be turn-based combat - your characters will use a grid-based map to attack and defend. The launch of the game for both consoles just confirms that they're not shunning the 3DS aside for the Nintendo Switch.
The researchers are now taking efforts to ensure that the collection of scientific data continues in their absence. Even so, these new conditions have raised concerns among scientists about the stability of the ice.
Unemployment rate drops in Rhode Island to 5 percent
The Australian economy added 13,500 jobs, topping expectations for 10,000 following the addition of 37,100 in the previous month. More people were working in December than at any time during 2016! The government sector was second, adding about 2,000 jobs.
Gambia MPs extend President Jammeh's term
Only about a few thousand global tourists are believed to still be in Gambia, and efforts to evacuate them are continuing. Soldiers at checkpoints in Banjul appeared relaxed, with one telling visitors, "Welcome to the smiling coast".
NHTSA Clears Tesla's Autopilot System After Florida Crash
Tesla also said that it was "the first known fatality" in more than "130 million miles" since Autopilot first became available. Bryan Thomas, the agency's chief spokesman, said automated driving systems still require a driver's full attention.
Quakes hit snow-bound central Italy

Earth's Heat Record Broken Third Year in a Row
NOAA calculated that the average global temperature last year was 58.69 degrees - beating the previous year by.07 degrees. It has been confirmed that 2016 was the hottest year on record since records began in 1850, official data show.
Venus wave may be Solar System's biggest
Gravity waves ensue when a fluid - such as a liquid, gas or plasma - is displaced from a position of equilibrium. As such, the team say that the evidence is pointing towards gravity waves .
