Star Wars Episode 8 has its title

Rey- Star Wars

"Force Awakens" ended with scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley) discovering her hidden powers, finding Skywalker and ready to start her Jedi training. The eighth film in the series will be called Star Wars: The Last Jedi, according to Disney. However, for now, we are going to continue to ride our X-Wings made of hype as we await the eventual teaser for this movie. Of course, there is a theory that Rey is a Skywalker, so it's possible that the title could be in reference to her as well. That's where the ominous red font in the new logo could come into play. The Episode VII crawl suggests Luke Skywalker is "The Last Jedi". Maybe there's also some.revenge involved?

After The Last Jedi hits theaters in December, a film focusing on the origins of Han Solo is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2018.

As noted by my colleague in the above-linked article, the word Jedi is its own plural.

Director Rian Johnson has said the next film will pick up where "The Force Awakens" left off, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It's scheduled to be released December 15, and the film features the final performance of icon Carrie Fisher, who died in December 27, as General Leia Organa.

The Last Jedi was also the name of a 2013 novel by writers Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff.
