Israel legalises settler homes on private Palestinian land

ReutersIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attends the weekly cabinet meeting at his office in Jerusalem

The law, which prevents the government from demolishing the homes, comes less than a week after police forcibly evacuated the Amona outpost.

At the start of their meeting, May told Netanyahu that the British government is committed to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The decision extended the injunction against the installation of the caravans ordered the week before. To assign the entire West Bank to one side or the other in the Palestinian-Israeli dispute, as the newspaper has done in a number of articles this autumn and earlier this winter, ignores worldwide agreements signed by both parties that assert the status of the land is to be negotiated.

"We will vote against the law and do all of our efforts to stop it", Touma-Suliman said.

Bill allows Israel to declare private Palestinian land state property.

Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit has said some of the bill's provisions are illegal and he can't defend them against court challenges.

Microsoft Joins Suit Against Immigration Ban
Amazon and Expedia have submitted declarations in a federal court in Washington, claiming that a recent immigration order by U.S. In addition, Expedia said that several of its employees based in the USA and overseas will be prevented from traveling.

"This law forces the Palestinian to rethink their relations with Israel, but first and foremost, it requires the world to work against Israel's destructiveness and that of Netanyahu's government that ignores the entire world and worldwide law", Zomlot added, saying that "it seems like the Palestinians have lost now, in the short term, but in the long term we well all lose because of this policy".

After a day of back-and-forth on whether the vote would take place at all, the bill went before lawmakers at 10.30 p.m., receiving 60 votes in favor to just 52 against. "I said that I will act according to our national interest". The organization also said the measure was "a slap in the face of the global community". The White House said new construction "may not be helpful" in achieving peace.

Up until now, Netanyahu had every reason to believe that his agenda to colonize Palestinian land would meet with unhesitating approval from the Trump administration, whose core team on Israel-senior adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, Trump's designee to lead global negotiations Jason Greenblatt, and Trump's nominee to be ambassador to Israel David Friedman-are all staunch backers of Israeli settlements.

Peace Now, a left-leaning group promoting the two-state solution, also criticized passage.

The so-called "Regulation Bill" applies to around 4,000 settlement homes in the West Bank for which settlers could prove ignorance that they had built on privately owned land and had received encouragement from the Israeli state to do so.
