Phil Jackson Critical Of Carmelo Anthony In Tweet

Phil Jackson watched from the 13th row

So based on all of this, Jackson knew he couldn't fundamentally change the kind of player Carmelo Anthony is despite the claim from Ding to the contrary.

"[Jackson's] underestimating 'Melo's willingness to stay", the source told Woj. This is a pretty direct shot from the team president to his franchise player, and perhaps a way to accelerate trade talks with other teams, or get Anthony to waive his no-trade clause.

On Tuesday, Jackson signed off via Twitter on a Bleacher Report story critical of the Knicks star's winning mentality.

"Bleacher's Ding" refers to Bleacher Report's National Basketball Association writer, Kevin Ding.

"Bleacher's Ding nearly rings the bell", Jackson tweeted, "but I learned you don't change the spot on a leopard with Michael Graham in my CBA daze".

Whether Anthony gives the OK or not, Jackson has his hands full. He was also kicked off the Albany team for fighting with Jackson. Anthony has a no-trade clause in his contract and has not waived it, basically telling the Knicks and Jackson that he wants to stay in NY.

Madonna gets go-ahead to adopt twins from Malawi
Madonna filed for the adoption of the two girls this year but later refuted claims that she was looking to expand her family. Then in 2009 she adopted a second Malawian child, a girl Mercy James, after she had split from the Snatch director.

Anthony and Jackson met to clear the air, but the situation has since worsened.

Anthony has privately told teammates, too: He refuses to let Jackson run him out of the Knicks. Since then, Jackson has offered his star forward at a discount in trade packages to three teams - the Celtics, Clippers and Cavaliers - but each offer has been rejected.

There's only but so much outside pressure one can take before cracking, and Anthony is undoubtedly at that breaking point. Plus, the Knicks must pay Anthony a $9.5 million bonus if he is traded. It's testing me as a human being.

It's no secret Jackson is trying to move Anthony before the February 23 trade deadline.

And while there has been chattering about a potential trade to the Cavaliers in exchange for Kevin Love, for now that seems highly unlike. Under Jackson's watch the Knicks are 75 games below.500. That's why a team such as the Clippers, stuck between a can't-beat-the-Warriors rock and a basically hard-capped place salary-wise, is unconvinced Anthony is worth it unless merely swapping role players for him.

It doesn't help that interest in Anthony has reportedly been lukewarm. Even with a 22-31 record, NY still remains just 2.5 games behind Detroit for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
