Semenya has to wait for London gold — IAAF

More than three years after becoming the first American woman to medal in the 800 meters at the World Championships, Martinez was upgraded from bronze to silver medal on Friday after Russian gold medalist Mariya Savinova-Farnosova was banned for doping by the Court of Arbitration for Sport and stripped of her medal.

The decision sees Semenya add a second Olympic title to her name having emerged victorious in the 800m in Rio previous year.

CAS ruled that all prizes on between July 2010 and August 2015 are forfeited as a result of "clear evidence" that Savinova was involved in doping from the eve of the European Championship in Barcelona in 2010 until the 2013 world championships in Moscow.

The banned substances allegedly taken by Savinova-Farnosova and Glazyrina were not named.

Savinova won the race in a world-leading time of 1:56.19, beating the South African favourite into second place.

Kazarin is a former coach of Stepanova, who along with husband Vitaly Stepanov has taken up residence at an unknown location in the United States due to having to flee Russian Federation after they provided evidence of state-sponsored doping in 2014. It's former director has also become a whistleblower and said hundreds of failed doping tests were covered up.

DeMarcus Cousins Lost His Shit Again
His behavior throughout his Sacramento Kings career has led to some calling for his trade, perhaps as early as the next few weeks. Not a great night of work for the Kings' star. "That's tough, especially after how hard we played last game", Collison said.

However, CAS has now imposed a four-year period of ineligibility on Savinova-Farnosova from August 24, 2015 and disqualified her from all races between July 26, 2010 and August 19, 2013.

According to the ruling, Safinova would lose her 2010 European title, 2011 world title, 2012 Olympic gold and 2013 worlds silver medal.

Dmitriev spoke of secret video footage of suspended coach Kazarin, who is seen in a sports hall in Chelyabinsk during a training session for 400m runner Artem Denmukhametov. "If CAS decided (to ban Savinova) nothing can be done", he told Russia's Tass news agency.

However, IAAF spokesperson Yannis Nikolaou said that the South African will have to wait at least 45 days before that happens: "Savinova-Farnosova has the right to appeal, so it can not be final until the 45-day appeal period is over".

Caster Semenya of South Africa is line to be upgraded to 800m gold at both London 2012 and the 2011 World Championships in the South Korean city. Russian Federation has denied any official involvement in the scandal.

On Tuesday, the Iaaf council unanimously upheld Russia's suspension.
