Senate Investigation of Trump, Flynn and Russia Moving Forward

Senior White House Advisor Stephen Miller criticized the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling blocking Trump's Jan. 27 immigration order

Recent news reports have accused Flynn of discussing U.S. -Russia sanctions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, but Flynn previously had told Pence that sanctions did not come up in his conversations with Kislyak.

The US Justice Department had warned the Trump administration last month that Mr Flynn was vulnerable to blackmail by Russian Federation.

After finding evidence that Russian Federation was seeking to disrupt the election, USA intelligence agencies tried to determine whether the Trump campaign was cooperating with Moscow on hacking and other related efforts, according to the paper.

On Tuesday, seven Republican senators indicated that it's likely there will be further investigations into the conversations between former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and the Russian ambassador to the US.

On Monday night, National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigned after just 23 days in office.

Trump is considering whether to retain Flynn in his White House position. "I have sincerely apologized to the president and the vice president, and they have accepted my apology", Flynn said in his resignation letter.

Flynn acknowledged speaking to the ambassador then but denied discussing the sanctions.

It later emerged that Mr Trump had been warned by former attorney general Sally Yates about Mr Flynn's conduct and had failed to act on it.

USA bridges structurally deficient; 900 in Texas
Louisiana's top structurally deficient bridges are in Caddo, Jefferson, Calcasieu, Orleans, Bossier, Ouachita and St. The state has already identified 4,075 bridges that need fix , which comes with a price tag of $12 billion.

The two people were not authorized to discuss the matter by name and spoke on condition of anonymity. It would be up to the Jeff Sessions Justice Department to review the transcript and bring a case, if it saw fit.

In a new hardening of the USA line on Russia, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said: "President Trump has made it very clear he expects the Russian government to de-escalate violence in the Ukraine and return Crimea".

When asked about the possibility of a select committee, Nunes added: "There is not going to be one; I can tell you there is absolutely not going to be one". If Trump didn't know what his top national security advisior was up to for months, what does that say about the president's ability to lead?

Gen Flynn has apologised for giving Mr Pence and others "incomplete information" about the call, which happened on 29 December - the same day President Obama announced new sanctions on Russian Federation.

Mr Trump has suggested that his own intelligence agencies were illegally feeding classified information to journalists, deepening a dispute that started with last year's findings over Russian interference in the election.

"In the process of this, we need to find out who the leaking moles are who are violating federal law inside this government", Mr. King said. He had "no problem" with Flynn talking to the Russians, according to White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Flynn, who had deep connections with Trump throughout the 2016 campaign, was asked to resign after it became public that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence on conversations he had before moving into the White House, regarding sanctions on Russian Federation with Sergey Kislyak, the Kremlin's man in Washington, reports CNN.
