An Off-Duty Police Officer Opened Fire While Fighting Teenagers On His Lawn

Off-duty LAPD pulls a weapon on the kids

Some witnesses criticized Anaheim police for arresting two teens, including the 13-year-old, but failing to take any action against the officer who fired his gun.

According to The Los Angeles Times, concern within the community prompted the Anaheim Police Department to investigate the case.

Auto and residential windows were broken during the melee that drew 300 protesters near Euclid Street and Palasis Road - about two miles away from Disneyland, the "Happiest Place on Earth".

-Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Anaheim, Calif., Wednesday to express their outrage after a video surfaced that appears to show a local police officer roughing a young teen and eventually firing his weapon.

No one was wounded, but the Tuesday afternoon incident, which was recorded and shared widely on social media, sparked violent protest in Anaheim on Wednesday night.

A home was spray-painted with anti-police graffiti as some cars and windows were vandalized.

The incident took place after the officer, whose identity has not been revealed, confronted a group of teens from a nearby high school for walking across his lawn. A 13-year-old boy allegedly threatened to shoot the officer, police said.

"He tackled me, and he's wrestling me". "And then he came at me".

Facebook reportedly near deal to stream on Major League Baseball game per week
Still, it won't affect the outcome of games much, either, as it's rare that pitchers throw wild pitches on intentional walks. Live-streaming games will always be crucial, as sports are some of the last events people still want to witness in real time.

"I still fear for our lives, for him living right down the street from us", the mother said.

Christian, the teen seen in the video.

Cellphone video shows the shocking moment an off-duty police officer nearly shot a teenager who he was scuffling with outside his home.

In the video, the teen can be heard saying to the officer, "I didn't do anything to hurt you". During the ensuing struggle, the officer pulled a gun from his waistband and discharged his gun. Then another boy with a red backpack runs into the threesome, pushing the officer into and over a low hedge. Another teenager tries to punch the man but misses. After another teenager struck the police officer, the cop could be seen pulling out his gun and firing it into the air.

An off-duty Los Angeles police officer fired his weapon outside his Anaheim home during an altercation involving several juveniles on Tuesday.

After the altercation, on-duty police officers arrived at the scene where two of the boys in the video were arrested - one of whom was Christian. The white officer apparently turned physical after he thought the teen threatened to "shoot him", but the teen repeatedly pleaded innocence in the video, claiming he actually threatened to "sue" - not shoot - the officer. The mom said her son had been released, telling KTLA she was told the DA's office had rejected charges. This video shows several of those people being arrested while someone off camera thanks the protesters. "We're investigating it fully and the district attorney's office, they'll make the determination whether charges are filed or not".

The off-duty officer has been placed on administrative leave, pending an inquiry.

A 9-minute video posted on YouTube shows the officer holding the front of a black boy's hoodie and trying to drag him off his lawn, as some dozens other teenagers stand by watching and filming, some of them yelling "Let him go!" "Anaheim is committed to a full and impartial investigation".
