Lightning acquire defenceman Mark Streit from Flyers for centre Filppula

In the final hour prior to the NHL's trade deadline on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning dealt Valtteri Filppula to the the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Mark Streit and two draft picks.

According to LeBrun, the Lightning will retain 50 percent of Streit's remaining salary in the deal; the Flyers are also retaining part of his salary from the initial trade.

Because of the trade, the Philadelphia Flyers had to move down a forward to create space for Filppula.

The Pittsburgh Penguins' biggest trade-deadline move may end up being the one they didn't make.

Filppula has a list of 13 teams he can not be traded to without his permission.

Snapchat's $24 Billion Valuation Sets A High Bar For Its Future
Orders for the IPO were concentrated at about $17 to $18 a share, people familiar with the process said Tuesday. Now, the social media app maker employs nearly 2,000 workers and is about to become a publicly traded company.

They do have some interesting assets on the trading table, including defensemen Mark Streit, Michael Del Zotto and Nick Schultz - all pending unrestricted free agents - along with perhaps both of their goalies, certainly Steve Mason and maybe Michal Neuvirth.

His no-movement clause forces the Flyers to protect him at the upcoming expansion draft.

To lessen the blow of losing two draft picks in the deal, Yzerman turned around and dealt Streit to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2018 4th round pick. Fleury has said all the right things while receding into the background and Rutherford has maintained he believes the Penguins will need Fleury if they want to become the first team in almost 20 years to win back-to-back Cups.

The Panthers' 25th-ranked power play, which failed on all six attempts versus the Flyers this season, is 5-for-12 in their last four games overall after going 3-for-26 in their previous eight. "We added three defensemen here within the last week, two experienced National Hockey League guys and Frank Corrado, [who] we think with a little work in there with our development group and coaching in Wilkes-Barre [is] a guy who's going to play on our team at some point".

The Bolts would love to deal away Valtteri Filppula and his $5 million dollar cap hit. A $1.45 million per year fourth liner?
