Confident Boeing prepares to deliver first revamped Max models this summer

The MAX 9 model is nearly nine feet longer than the MAX 8's 129 feet 8 inches, and it carries 178 passengers in two classes compared to the MAX 8's 162 in a similar configuration.

The aircraft will start system checks, fueling and engine runs on the flight line.

Starting next year, there will an efficient new airliner entering commercial service - the Boeing 737 MAX 9. The 737 MAX 8 type-certification test program including flight-testing four aircraft, plus ground and laboratory testing.

Boeing (BA) says it is ready for the next production increases in its 737 jetliners as it prepares to deliver the first of the revamped Max models this summer.

Boeing had rolled out the largest member of the family, the MAX 9 on Tuesday, and also announced its plans for a stretched MAX 10.

Airbus's re-engined narrowbody, the A320neo, has been in service since January 2016.

Major aircraft leasing companies have offered a lukewarm response to proposals by Boeing to build a bigger version of its 737 MAX family to counter the Airbus A321neo.
