Injustice 2 Will Only Include Cosmetic Microtransactions

"Source Crystals are a new type of currency available in Injustice 2 that are used to purchase cosmetic features for characters".

NetherRealm Studios has officially announced that "Injustice 2" will feature a microtransaction system at launch. That changed today with the introduction of Source Crystals, a real-money resource which will be one of the game's main forms of currency for changing the way your character looks. The video also showcased actual gameplay footage of the character who didn't come much of a surprise for gaming analysts and enthusiasts, as NetherRealm boss Ed Boon already teased the superhero last December. The Crystals will be used for buying skins and shaders to alter the look of your fighters. Source Crystals can not be used to purchase gear that has any gameplay advantages whatsoever. Shaders will let players make different color combinations, while Premiere skins will change a character's look from top to bottom.

WB Games is also quick to point out that Source Crystal purchases are not for pay-to-win or advantage-offering items; the tweaks awarded are purely cosmetic. Transform Gear allows you to apply the visuals of one piece of Gear to another piece.

Boaty McBoatface dives into first Antarctic mission
Antarctic Bottom Water is cold and dense, and its movement contributes to ocean circulation worldwide, the BAS writes. It will investigate parts of the Southern Ocean.

"For example, once you level a character up to Level 20, you can use Source Crystals to level up other characters to 20". NetherRealm noted that, "This is optional and won't affect gameplay or game progression". After using Transform Gear, your Gear piece will have your preferred stats matched with your preferred visuals.

With all of the constant release hype around new characters and story trailers, details about how various systems work in Injustice 2 have been a little thin on the ground.
