FedEx profit rises but misses Wall Street's target

FedEx Express, the company's airline unit, reported fiscal third-quarter revenue of $6.8 billion, a 3.4% increase over $6.6 billion in 3Q FY2016.

Baird has an Outperform rating and raised price target to $222 from $209. Five equities research analysts have rated the stock with a hold rating and eighteen have issued a buy rating to the company. JPMorgan Chase & Co. set a $230.00 target price on FedEx and gave the company a "buy" rating in a research note on Wednesday, December 28th.

The company hired more than 50,000 seasonal workers to meet the recent holiday season rush. The consensus price target of $210.73 also implies significant upside from the current price of $195.92. 1,734,301 shares of the company were exchanged. Company price to earnings (P/E) ratio, which measures the relationship between the earnings of a company and its stock price, is calculated as 28.01. Based on a recent bid, the stock is trading -8.72% away from it's 52- week high and 96.47% away from its 52 week low.
