Israel Arrests Man Suspected In Wave Of Bomb Threats Against Jewish Centers

A 19-year-old has been arrested in Israel for making a string of hoax bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers in the US in the last three months. Above police read the JCC of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas which received a threat on February 27

Israeli police arrested a 19-year-old Jewish man Thursday for making dozens of bomb threats against Jewish community centers in the United States.

-Israeli citizen whom they have reason to believe is behind the recent threats on Jewish community centers across the USA, the Jerusalem Post has learned.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said Thursday the suspect is "the guy who was behind the JCC threats".

Jewish community leaders are expressing more relief now that another suspect has been caught.

Several Jewish groups and publications were highly disturbed by the Trump administration's earlier suggestion that the bomb threats may have come from "the reverse" to "make others look bad."

On March 3, the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested a former journalist, Juan Thompson, 31, suspected of making a handful of the bomb threats to Jewish community centres and institutions around the United States.

When asked by the Miami Herald if the suspect is the suspect in several South Florida bomb threats, national Federal Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Samantha Shero said in a statement that the Federal Bureau of Investigation can't confirm individual incidents. The FBI and Justice Department's civil rights division were investigating the incidents.

Across the US this year there have been five waves of bomb threats at JCCs and Jewish schools.

Health secretary prods GOP to 'collaborate' on health bill
Once that came out, there was a risk of losing even more members of the Republican party to back the bill once voting commences. Although the Republican bill would also provide tax credits, they would not be created to keep pace with rising premiums.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Israeli National Police for their work on the case.

The suspect's lawyer said that her client was home schooled after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 14.

More than 100 bomb threats to Jewish institutions in the United States have accompanied fears over whether hate crimes and anti-Semitic acts have been on the rise in the country. The suspect, who lives in Ashkelon, has an American and Israeli passport.

An Israeli police official says the suspect in a wave of bomb threats against Jewish targets in the US used sophisticated methods to hide his tracks.

"Our JCC has solid security procedures in place, allowing us to respond to threats quickly and effectively", says Executive Director, Lael Gray.

He was held in custody in Israel pending his next court date, scheduled for March 30.

The ADL, JCC Association of America and Jewish Federations of North America all welcomed news of the arrest.
