US wants China to take action to stop North Korea nuke tests

President Donald Trump's top national security aides have completed a broad review of US options aimed at countering North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, a senior USA official said on Sunday.

"The market dictates that interests between our two countries are structured so that you will always have me and I will always have you", he told a regular briefing. Tensions on the peninsula are now high, with South Korea saying last week that the North was ready to carry out a new nuclear test.

North Korea's foreign ministry issued another angry diatribe against the exercises Thursday, saying that it would "mount a resolute preemptive attack" if it thought the United States was about to strike it.

Speaking on his first visit to Britain as Pentagon chief, Mr Mattis condemned North Korea and described the isolated communist country as the most immediate threat faced by the US. Trump has said that neighboring China must do more to deter North Korea.

But if the talks with Xi don't produce Trump's desired result of getting Beijing to solve the North Korean nuclear problem, Trump said the U.S. would take action.

"Hard currency is what enables them to develop the nuclear and missile programs, which they see as essential to staying in power and ensuring that North Korea is uninvadable", Scarlatoiu said.

Trump and Xi will meet next week at the USA leader's golf resort in Florida, the first face-to-face meeting between the heads of the world's two greatest powers.

The official said it was not immediately known whether the recommendations put together by Trump's National Security Council had yet made their way to the president.

United, Chelsea target Bakayoko's dream club revealed
It adds to the CV so I think we've got a good opportunity". 'When he was young, he wanted to go to PSG. If they were to offer me a deal, I don't see why I would refuse it'.

But Haley emphasized that at the Florida meeting "the most important conversation will be how we're going to be dealing with the nonproliferation of North Korea".

Beijing says its leverage over Pyongyang is limited. Previously, the United Nations imposed sanctions on North Korea for three nuclear tests it carried out in 2006, 2009 and 2013.

North Korean officials have reportedly declared the country's intent to take part in next year's Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.

Since taking office, Trump has left open the possibility of military action against North Korea.

Former defence secretary Ash Carter, however, said he doubted that Beijing will co-operate.

At the time, a state newsreader warned the United States that North Korea was able to "counterattack" if its enemies invaded. "We have those options", he said. They would be wonderful each by itself, but taken in train they start to look ominous. Another test is expected in the near future; however, it is impossible to predict with any accuracy when a North Korean nuclear test will occur. "Seoul is right there on the borders of the DMZ, so even though the outcome is certain, it is a very destructive war". Defense against missiles is not 100 percent effective and only one needs to get through for events to spiral out of control.

In a North Korea versus the United States scenario, it should be remembered that sometimes it only takes one well-placed shot to end a battle, no matter the size and/or capabilities of the adversaries.
