Gun theft suspect threatens schools, sent 'manifesto' to Trump

Janesville Police say man was seen with rifle near school

They also said he made statements generically about schools, which has led many schools to close or place a soft lockdown on the district.

Schools that are closed Friday include Janesville public schools and four parochial schools in the city; UW-Rock County and Blackhawk Technical College, both in Janesville; the Parkview School District in Orfordville and Milton public schools.

On the same day of the break-in, a vehicle fire was reported on Pennycook Lane, a short distance away from the gun shop. Thursday morning, reports of a man with a gun who appeared to be drunk at Lincoln Elementary School prompted a lockdown. That means students will stay in the classroom.

Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said Saturday that investigators have responded to about 200 leads and are pursuing about 70 of them.

Police were forced to shut down some Wisconsin schools after the suspect allegedly made threats against them.

South Korea Test Fires 800 Kilometre-Range Missile
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a similar assessment, saying the missile flew about 60 kilometers (37 miles). South Korea and the USA confirm North Korea launched a single ballistic missile at a facility near Sinpo at 6:42 a.m.

Schools across the area ordered soft lockdowns, and tactical units from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and ATF were called in to help.

The 33-year-old Janesville man is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-10, with green eyes and brown hair. "We don't have any reason to believe he's coming here but everyone is on alert because nobody knows where he is", DeSpain said.

Spoden said an associate of Jakubowski told authorities he had been "agitated" by national politics and 'recently verbalized a plan to steal guns and use them in an unspecified attack'. He can be seen buying stamps at the Janesville Post Office before crossing the street and mailing the manifesto.

Jakubowski is believed to be armed and unsafe.

As a result, the area schools were notified of this information and the search efforts for Jakubowski were supplemented by several additional agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and all local law enforcement agencies.
