S8 Pre-orders Surpass Previous Models — Samsung

The fact that pre-orders for the S8 are stronger than the S7 suggests that consumers have not been put off from Samsung products after last year's Galaxy Note 7 scandal.

If you chose overnight shipping, then you may actually have the Galaxy S8 a full day before everyone else who didn't pre-order gets it. Unfortunately, however, the company has announced that the voice control feature of its smart assistant, Bixby, will not ship with it.

Samsung's comments about pre-orders comes just a day after reports surfaced that its Bixby voice-activated personal assistant won't make its debut in the Galaxy S8 in the USA after all. "We are aiming to sell 1 million units before officially launching the smartphone", said Samsung's mobile business chief Koh Dong-jin at a media conference at its Seocho office building in Seoul. According to reports, Bixby will be developed using Samsung's in-house technology while Viv Labs will be incorporating Viv's features and technology.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the first smartphone to be unveiled with Bluetooth 5, the next-generation Bluetooth standard.

Although its predecessor, the Galaxy S7 was an incredible device, the Galaxy S8 comes out on top when both of these are compared.

Dialog Semi slump, banks weigh on European shares; volatility up
Engineers from Dialog have reportedly been switching over to Apple over the past year, a source said , according to Bloomberg . Iltgen, who has been covering the semiconductor maker for over 15 years, helped send the stock down nearly single-handedly.

The tech selling site musicMagpie has released data indicating that Apple is a clear victor when it comes to retaining value, beating out other leading brands such as Samsung. Like the S8, the iPhone 8 is also believed to feature a fingerprint scanner that's been relocated to the back and a pressure-sensitive, rather than physical, home button on the front.

Peter Wells takes a first look at Samsung's latest mobile device at its NY launch. Citing industry sources, the publications said the prototype could be "a preliminary version of its upcoming foldable smartphone, dubbed Galaxy X".

This could be good news or bad news for Apple. The curved screen in the S8 and S8 Plus - made of flexible organic light-emitting diodes - has lower production yields, presumably at around 60 percent, compared to those screens based on rigid OLED or the liquid crystal display. Samsung also added dust resistance, on top of the phone's existing waterproofing.

Apple is DEVELOPING flexible screens? 90% of their applied tech is bought from Samsung or other harware vendors.
