4 bodies found in N.Y. park near area of gang violence

Investigators walk around a Central Islip park where four bodies were found

According to officials police on Long Island, New York have discovered the bodies of four young people suspected to have been killed by members of the global gang, MS-13. Sini said all of the victims sustained "significant trauma" to their bodies before being killed.

He did not definitively say the killings were the work of the MS-13 gang but said the tactics - using sharp instruments and extreme violence - were consistent with the gang, which has been gaining a foothold on Long Island for years.

"The disregard for the pain, fear, and suffering the families and community will experience is uncalled for", she said in a post on Facebook.

The family of a teen killed in the apparent gang-related murders in Central Islip hosted a private fundraiser Saturday to help pay for his unexpected funeral services.

"This is a long-term war", he said, invoking his past declarations of going to battle against the violent gang in Suffolk. Commissioner Sini had not yet shared with the public why and how his officers were alerted to the horrific crime scene.

Authorities believe they were killed several days ago in a park in Central Islip, a working-class community less than 50 miles east of NY.

Police say the bodies of four apparent homicide victims have been found in a Long Island park. They have, however, said the males were killed in the past "few days".

Ahmadinejad registered for presidential election along with his close aide, former vice-president Hamid Baqayee. However, Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that the Supreme Leader never barred him from rerunning for the presidency.

The gang, which federal authorities said is a "transnational criminal enterprise", became so powerful that the FBI started a MS-13 National Gang Task Force in 2004.

'He called me, the friend in MS-13, he called me last night at 6:30 and told me my brother is here, ' William said on Thursday.

Sources said the bodies were beginning to decompose and that MS-13 is believed to be behind the slayings.

The 18-year-old was one of six children in his family.

The bodies were found in a park bordered by Clayton Street and Lowell Avenue, ten minutes drive from the center of Brentwood. 'I don't know what they're involved in, who they're around'.

Two of the students - Nisa Mickens, 15, and Kayla Cuevas, 16 - were beaten with baseball bats and a machete in September in nearby Brentwood. He would not comment on whether the teenager was among those killed. Police Commissioner Timothy Sini said in a news conference on Thursday that authorities were leaning toward MS-13 but added, "we have not ruled out any possibilities at this point", Newsday reported.
