Donald Trump Defends Bill O'Reilly Amid Sexual Harassment Claims

Change comes for O'Reilly, and won't be spun

Trump earlier in the day declared O'Reilly innocent of the allegations that prompted Fox to pay $13 million to settle complaints from women at the network, the New York Times reported.

Following the Times story, O'Reilly released a statement in which he described himself as a victim, and claimed his reason for paying out the settlements was to protect his children.

"I do not think Bill has done anything wrong", he said. "Because you should have taken it all the way", said Trump, whose was seen in last year's election campaign on an old Access Hollywood video in which he was heard bragging about being so famous he could grab women "by the pussy" with impunity. "I think he's a person I know well - he is a good person", Trump asserted.

The number of ads that run on "The O'Reilly Factor" has been steadily declining as a growing amount of companies boycott the show amid the Fox News host's sexual harassment scandal.

Ailes, who has denied all of the allegations against him, was forced to resign from Fox News just one week after that interview. "Where is she?" Mr. Jones, a former adviser to then-President Barack Obama, said Wednesday on his CNN town hall series "The Messy Truth".

Logan County sheriff's deputy shot near Oklahoma City; police searching for suspect
The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned and investigators believe Leforce may have fled on foot. The injured deputy's name was not immediately released, nor was his condition.

Hyundai said it now has no ads on "The O'Reilly Factor", but it pulled spots on future episodes.

"He's an overt misogynist, he has been his entire life, and how dare he defend Bill O'Reilly", she said. "Such comments tell women they won't be believed".

U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters says Fox News host Bill O'Reilly "needs to go to jail" over sexual harassment allegations. "They have treated women very badly, and so I understand that the Justice Department has opened a case and they're taking a look at them because this really is a sexual harassment enterprise", Waters said. I guess, except of course, if it happens to be your friend, Bill O'Reilly, who is the one accused of sexually violating. Amazingly, O'Reilly's once-certain future at the network is now in doubt.

But there's a big overlap between Trump voters and Fox News viewers, so these are not people who are going to stop watching because of a few million dollars in hush money.
