Top NFL Draft prospect Gareon Conley accused of sexual assault

Conley is under investigation by Cleveland police after he was accused of rape in early April, NFL.com reports.

As for Conley, two of his friends who were in the hotel room were interviewed by police and told cops Conley never hooked up with the woman and that she was just mad that she got kicked out of the room.

Conley's attorney, Kevin Spellacy, told Cleveland.com that the accusations are "ridiculous and ludicrous".

Cleveland 19 is also looking into why the police hadn't filed a completed report about the incident almost two weeks later. The woman alleges that Conley began to have sex with her, and that she told him "no, stop, it hurts!"

Though Conley is one of the most highly touted cornerbacks coming out of this draft class, it was reported Tuesday by USA TODAY that he has been accused, but not charged, of raping a female alleged victim on April 9 in a Cleveland hotel room.

Conley, considered a top 15 pick by several NFL draft analysts, was planning on being one of the 22 athletes in the green room at the NFL draft on Thursday, but will now watch from home as he waits for his name to be called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

State Department Promotion of Trump's Mar-a-Lago Draws Fire
Trump broke precedent by not divesting from his business interests when he became president. The State Department has not responded to requests for comment on the issue.

Conley is a projected first-round pick in Thursday's draft. Both the Jets and Eagles hosted Conley on a pre-draft visit, which underscores their interest in perhaps drafting him. She claimed she met Conley in an elevator around 3 a.m., that they went to his hotel room and that he propositioned her for group sex with his friend and another woman, which she declined. In the morning, but once police arrived Conley was not at the scene nor the hotel.

He said his client was never alone with the alleged victim, and he has three witnesses who said he did nothing wrong.

Conley has strongly denied this report and has since gotten support from Ohio State teammate and fellow draft prospect Marshon Lattimore.

The report states that the woman and Conley eventually walked into the bathroom before Conley allegedly unbuttoned her trousers and pulled them down.

The woman went to a Cleveland-area hospital to be examined for rape.
