Cop Accidentally Overdoses, Nearly Dies After Drug Bust

An East Liverpool Police officer while responding to a drug-involved call Friday night accidentally touched Fentanyl and overdosed

Police believe the powder was Fentanyl - a powerful drug that is often mixed with heroin and can get into the body by simply touching it.

The drivers tried to get rid of the evidence, but left white powder all over the auto.

According to Cleveland's Fox8.com, an hour after the officers returned to the police station, another officer noticed Green had a white powder on his shirt.

Undercover officer Chris Green accidentally overdosed on what is suspected to be fentanyl and carfentanyl.

An East Liverpool (Ohio) patrolman was almost killed just a few days ago when his skin came in contact with fentanyl, a deadly narcotic stronger than heroin.

Narcan is a medication used to block the effects of opioids, especially an overdose.

Captain Wright said Sunday Green was in good shape.

Paramedics who were previously called to attend to Buckle were summoned back to the police station and immediately administer a dose of the opioid reversal drug Narcan to revive Green. A sensational California murder case also hinged on the use of fentanyl: Kristin Rossum, a 24-year-old toxicologist with the San Diego County medical examiner's office, was convicted of using the drug to kill her husband in November 2000. "The last thing I think I remember is falling backwards into the door", Green recounted.

Following his arrest, Buckle complained that he was not feeling well and an ambulance was called for him.

Flynn could reasonably face criminal charges and if found guilty, there would be a basis to lock him up. On Monday, Washington political theater was in full force, and the stars were Texas Sens.

It was last week when Green was on the scene of a drug arrest where the two suspects allegedly tore open bags of drugs, allegedly in an attempt to destroy evidence.

Its variant Carfentanyl is used on animals and can be 10,000 times more potent than morphine. Statewide, fentanyl-related overdose deaths more than doubled from 503 in 2014 to 1,155 in 2015, illustrating how the powerful drug is escalating the crisis.

The powdered narcotics had spread throughout the suspect's vehicle, and apparently on officer Green as well.

Speaking to local newspaper The Morning Journal, he said: "I started talking weird".

Lane said that the accidental overdose could have been deadly.

Patrolman Chris Green reportedly entered the auto and stopped Buckle from destroying the evidence.

"We just don't have the resources to do it", he said.

A field test proved that to be untrue and the suspects then said the drug was fentanyl.

Both Collins and Buckle were charged with tampering with evidence, but authorities expected more charges would be filed, WFMJ reports. He said that this incident was an example of how police are forced to change the way they do their jobs do to this scary drug epidemic.
