Sean Spicer defends White House following Sally Yates' testimony on Michael Flynn

Trump I feel badly for Michael Flynn

Press secretary Sean Spicer was asked again and again about Yates' testimony to a Senate Judiciary subcommittee that she warned White House officials that Trump's since-fired first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, was compromised by Russian Federation. President Donald Trump removed Flynn in February after it was revealed in news reports that he had lied about the nature of his conversations with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States. "And ultimately the president made the right decision".

Mr Obama, who had fired Mr Flynn as the head of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), told Mr Trump that he would have profound concerns about Mr Flynn becoming a top national security aide.

The Trump administration fired Yates not long after, when she declined to enforce the president's Muslim ban, believing it to be unlawful. Lindsey Graham's intimation after the hearing that he would be interested in digging further into Trump's business ties to Russian Federation, an issue that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said he could not discuss at Monday's hearing "because that impacts an investigation".

What Spicer aimed to do in Tuesday's briefing was cast Yates as a bitter partisan that the Trump White House was right to distrust.

After being asked multiple times if the White House took any steps to reduce Flynn's role or access to classified information after receiving Yates' warning, Spicer finally said, "I'm not aware of any".

Spicer added that he was not aware of any security restrictions placed on Flynn after the warning.

In a second tweet, Trump said Yates should be asked under oath "if she knows how classified information got into the newspapers" soon after she raised concerns about Flynn with White House counsel Don McGahn on January 26.

When asked during the hearing whether Flynn had lied to Vice President Mike Pence about the nature of his contact with the ambassador, Yates said, "that's certainly how it appeared, yes".

This new move, called McDelivery , aims at winning back young customers who are willing to pay for food brought to their doors. The servicee begins in Chicago , Los Angeles, Columbus, and Phoenix and covers most orders.

After those skeptical questions, Trump took no visible action against Flynn until a public outcry forced him to.

Yates had two in-person meetings and a phone call with White House counsel Don McGahn on January 26 and January 27, respectively.

A strong supporter of Hillary Clinton? Was he still fulfilling his normal national security adviser duties?

"Director Clapper reiterated what everybody, including the fake media already knows - there is "no evidence" of collusion with Russian Federation and Trump", the president said.

Trump said in a press conference three days after Flynn resigned, however, that when he looked at the information provided to him about Flynn's conversations with Kislyak, "I said, 'I don't think he did anything wrong".

Notably, Trump's own White House requested the House and Senate investigations after he took to Twitter on a Saturday morning and accused Obama of tapping the phones in Trump Tower.

Strikingly, Yates warned that not only was Flynn not telling the truth about the calls, the Russians knew and could probably prove he was lying - therefore opening him up to blackmail. Flynn's Russian Federation ties are also being scrutinized by the FBI as it conducts a similar investigation.
