On Friday, Comicon officials announced that mock weapons and certain other cosplay items, such as staffs, are still forbidden at the event. However, this did not seem to occur on Thursday, with the armed man slipping through into the convention while fully armed.

ABC 15 advises that those who bring a weapon to Phoenix Comicon - even a prop weapon - will not gain entry to the event. Vendors must also advise those who purchase these prop weapons that the product must remained sealed for the duration of the event. As a result of his arrest, prop weapons have been banned for the remainder of the con, and there will be "additional screening procedures" in place for attendees. The Phoenix Comicon is being held at the Phoenix Convention Center in the downtown area of Arizona's capital.

The suspect - whose name hasn't been released - was carrying four guns - including a shotgun, knives and ammunition, police said.

Here's a full rundown of what is permitted at Phoenix Comicon, effective today.
