Netanyahu: Trump Visit To Western Wall 'Destroyed UNESCO's Lies'

Washington:Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the USA has increased its military aid to Tel Aviv by tens of millions of dollars.

"I had a meeting this morning with president Abbas and can tell you that the Palestinians are ready to reach for peace", Trump said.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said President Donald Trump put "a lot of pressure" on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas to revive peace talks during his visit in Israel this week. The goal of Trump's trip, the official said, was "to do a lot of listening, build very strong relationships with all the different people, not just the parties involved. and try to create a lot of momentum and optimism around the prospect for peace".

Abbas reiterated his call for a two-state solution to the conflict, including a Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital. Trump also said that Iran should have thanked the US for the 2015 nuclear agreement, because it led to sanctions being lifted.

"I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack, and to the many killed and the families, so many families of the victims", Trump said.

Prior to the Manchester terror attack, Trump explained in his speech in Saudi Arabia that America alone "cannot crush this enemy". But in reality, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be even harder to resolve than the investigations and allegations dogging Mr. Trump back home.

Mr Abbas had sought to convince the unpredictable US President to remain committed to an independent Palestinian state.

Nevertheless, leaders on both sides want to give the new US administration a chance.

Pelley out as "CBS Evening News" anchor
But sources told The Post that the network decided not to renew Pelley's contract after unsatisfactory ratings during his tenure. Page Six had previously reported in December that Pelley might be on his way out of the anchor chair position on the show.

"Making peace however will not be easy", Trump told an audience at the Israel Museum.

First and foremost, Trump left players in the region with a clear understanding that an Israeli-Palestinian peace process is on the table, and that both parties are worthy partners in this endeavor.

Trump is visiting Jerusalem and West Bank on the second part of his maiden foreign trip since taking office in January.

In 1967, Israel seized the West Bank and east Jerusalem from Jordan during the Six-Day War with neighbouring states. If negotiations were to resume, they needed to be about the core issues, not talks about talks, he said.

Trump became the first US president to visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

His visit came in stark contrast to president Barack Obama's first Middle East trip eight years ago when Israelis accused him of shunning the Israel as he delivered a keynote speech in Egypt.

Netanyahu can't endorse a Trump deal his allies on the right won't accept, and the Palestinians can't endorse a Trump deal those same allies will accept. It later annexed East Jerusalem and declared it as part of its "eternal and indivisible capital", a move that has never been recognized by the worldwide community. "Our fundamental problem is with the occupation and settlements and failure of Israel to recognize the state of Palestine in the same way we recognize, which undermines the realization of a two-state solution".
