James Comey Trump will not block ex-FBI director's testimony - White House

Former FBI Director James Comey To Testify On Thursday And President Trump Cannot Stop It

She said "the president's power to exert executive privilege is very well-established", but Trump would not exercise it in this case.

The White House has denied that the conversation with Comey took place as described in the alleged memo, but have offered no further clarification.

The crucial point at issue in Thursday's hearing will be whether Comey believes that the President sought to obstruct his investigation into alleged collusion between members of Trump's 2016 campaign and Russian Federation, at a time when Moscow was accused of interfering in the presidential election.

Comey is expected to be questioned about the circumstances of his firing and allegations that Trump has tried to stifle the agency's Russian Federation investigation and divert attention to intelligence leaks that have hurt his administration.

President Donald Trump arrives to speak at an Air Traffic Control Reform Initiative event in the East Room at the White House, Monday, June 5, 2017, in Washington.

Most major USA television networks plan to carry the event live. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate intelligence committee, said on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday. The White House is hoping it will be able to build some Democratic support for its tax plan as well as a massive infrastructure investment plan, which Short said he hopes to tackle this calendar year.

SEC clears path for QB Malik Zaire to transfer to Florida
An approved rule change at SEC spring meetings could mean a Texas quarterback target is headed to Florida. The SEC now does not allow alcohol sales at athletic events except in designated private areas.

A source told CBS News Comey will remain available to Mueller and investigators.

"I think people are anxious to have Comey actually answer questions", Hemingway said on FOX News.

"Potentially, it's history depending on what Comey says", former federal prosecutor Michael Zeldin told CNN's Fredricka Whitfield on Sunday.

While Some Republicans in Congress had said that Trump should stop Comey's testimony, many legal scholars believed Trump had already waived his executive privilege because he spoke about conversations he had with Comey and tweeted about them.

Some critics of Trump have said that such a request, especially given that he later fired Comey, could be interpreted as an obstruction of justice. Separately, a group of supporters rallied near the White House to support the president's decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord.
