Andy Murray and Johanna Konta both battling injury ahead of Wimbledon opener

Jamie Murray confirms plans to play Wimbledon with brother Andy in the future

Murray was set to play two matches at this week's Hurlingham Classic before he made a decision to skip the exhibition event due to a sore hip.

British duo Andy Murray and Johanna Konta both face a race against time to be fit for their first-round matches at Wimbledon on Monday.

Andy Murray's sore hip is the latest in a string of health and injury problems the Scot has faced since becoming world number one last November.

Murray is still expected to play on Friday before he begins the defence of his Wimbledon title on 3 July.

The world number seven was due to face Karolina Pliskova in the last four but on Friday morning withdrew due to a spine injury.

What the UK Is Offering EU Citizens After Brexit
But under plans set out in the UK Government's positioning papers, European Union citizens will have to apply for " settled status " even if they have permanent residency.

Lendl added that Murray is "hitting the ball really well" and that he's satisfied by Murray's performance in practice. "I'm midway through my practice".

"Sadly I won't be ready to play at the Hurlingham, my hip is still sore and I need to rest it", he said.

French Open semi-finalist Murray was the favourite to win the Aegon Championships, which finished on Sunday, and win a third successive Queen's Club crown but crashed at the first hurdle.

The 30-year-old also practised with the Canadian teen Denis Shapovalov yesterday to mend the obstacle. "We have seen that movie over and over". "If I play like that, I certainly won't win Wimbledon".

According to The Times Murray has been treating his hip with sessions of "gyrotonic, a form of exercise that uses elements of yoga and t'ai chi", and the tennis world will discover on Monday whether it's been successful.
