Tony Martin continues racing at Tour de France with concussion

Tour de France 2017 – Dan Martin 3rd on Stage 3 and climbs to 15th on General Classification

Although Sagan had come to speak to him at his bus after the stage, Cavendish said he still wanted an explanation about the elbow.

His team manager, Roger Hammond, confirmed after the stage that Cavendish would be going to hospital to be checked over before any decision can be made about whether he can continue in the race, with most concern apparently relating to his potential injuries sustained when his right shoulder hit the barrier.

The 30-year-old has one Tour stage win to his name, taken in Bagneres-de-Bigorre in 2013, but that was at a time when he came to grand tours targeting individual stages.

About 50 metres from the end of Stage 4 this morning, Sagan elbowed Cavendish, who was squeezed against the barriers to his right, out of the way. The world champion was also docked 80 points from his green jersey total.

Race leader Geraint Thomas was also taken down in a separate crash in the final kilometre of the 207.5km stage from Mondorf-les-Bains to Vittel.

"I don't know, I'll leave that to the jury", Cavendish said when asked if Sagan should go home.

"I'm not a fan of him putting his elbow in like that". Just not to the degree that he deserves to get booted.

"Like I said, I get on with Peter, a crash is a crash, but I'd like to know about the elbow".

For its part, TIDAL reportedly believes that West didn't deliver the agreed volume of music videos to the service. The fued between Kanye West and Jay-Z has reached a new level due to a reported lawsuit filed by Kanye West .

By that point, Julien Vermote was at the front of the bunch, setting the pace behind the day's six escapees and permanently controlling the gap, which didn't go beyond three minutes: Frederik Backaert (Wanty-Groupe Gobert), Nathan Brown (Cannondale-Drapac), Adam Hansen (Lotto-Soudal), Romain Hardy (Fortuneo-Oscaro), Nils Politt (Katusha-Alpecin) and Romain Sicard (Direct Energie).

"It's ok, both times I managed to take off quite a bit of speed (before crashing)", said Thomas.

Demare clocked almost five hours over the largely flat 207.5-kilometer (129-mile) route, which started and finished in two spa towns, Mondorf-les-Bains in Luxembourg and Vittel in France. "It's certainly a great start [to the Tour de France for Sky], but there is still 18 days to go".

"We've been working with Arnaud for a long time on sprints", said Marc Madiot, manager of Demare's FDJ team.

With Slovak Sagan disqualified, Norway's Alexander Kristoff came second and Greipel third.

Today's fifth stage should see the top guns in action as the 160.5-km ride from Vittel will end up La Planche des Belles Filles, a lung-busting 5.9-km climb at an average gradient of 8.5 percent.
